A while back, we posted on how to make Sugar Free Grenadine. Since that first post over two years ago, it has painfully come to our attention that the Diet Cran-Pomegranate has been discontinued.
This puts us, the no-carb imbiber, in a bit of a predicament if we want to enjoy anything with grenadine as an additive.
As our supply of Diet Cran-Pomegranate slowly dwindled, we searched high and low for any alternatives that could be find. Anything from powdered versions, to skinny versions.
Unfortunately, the demand just isn’t there for the DIY sugar free grenadine.
However, Jordan’s makes a Skinny Pomegranate Syrup. We purchased it and taste-tested it. While the initial taste and sweetness is comparable to regular high-octane grenadine, it does have the saccharine aftertaste. It is a little less noticeable in this manner, but still present. While not perfect, the Jordan’s Skinny Syrup is better than nothing.
If anyone knows where we can get our hands on some sucralose sweetened, low carb pomegranate juice, please let us know so that we can update our Sugar Free Grenadine post.
