The Sugar Free Paloma recipe comes to us from Imbibe Magazine. It was recommended while we were looking up some fun Cinco de Mayo cocktails. But now that we’ve tried it and found it so refreshing, this may become a nice go-to cocktail for those hot summer days!
The Sugar Free Paloma is a slightly different take on a classic margarita, but with grapefruit flavor in addition to the lime. Honest, after trying the Paloma, I may not go back to the margarita!
The Sugar Free Paloma
- 2 oz Hornitos Tequila (though any good tequila would work)
- 0.5 oz ReaLime
- Pinch of salt
- ~4 oz Sugar Free Grapefruit soda (Diet Squirt)
The Sugar Free Paloma is really simple to make. Place a few cubes of ice in an 8 ounce highball glass*, then pour in the tequila and ReaLime. Now add the pinch of salt** and give it a little stir. Now pour in the soda until the glass is full.
*Highball glasses can come in 8 or 10+ ounce varieties. If using a larger one, please take the time to measure the soda or else the proportions will be very off and this delicious drink won’t be quite so good!
**A pinch of salt can be highly subjective, but for our purposes we go by a pinch being equal to 1/8th of a teaspoon.
