The Sugar Free Metropole

The Sugar Free Metropole is a refreshing cocktail that captures a lot of the wonderful herby nuances from within the Dry Vermouth.  The bitters, which sometimes can be lost in complex cocktails, do add just that slightest bit of extra flavor.

We found the inspiration for the Sugar Free Metropole over at the Looka website (ran by Chuck Taggart).  He’s also got a little information on that page regarding the history of the Metropole, but I’ll summarize here as well!

Sugar Free Deep Sea Cocktail

The Sugar Free Deep Sea Cocktail is another adapted cocktail that originates from our copy of the Savoy Cocktail Book.  If you’re to own any cocktail book, the Savoy has got to be, hands down, our most recommended book!

Sugar Free Scofflaw

The Sugar Free Scofflaw is another drink adapted from two of our favorite books, Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails, by Ted Haigh (Dr. Cocktail) and the Savoy Cocktail Book.  And it was originally made by Gavin Duffy in the Harry’s New York Bar, in Paris.

This is a flavor-filled cocktail that really blends together wonderfully with the rye whiskey, citrus, and myriad of herbs from the dry vermouth.  The bit of grenadine gives it that extra flavor that really completes the drink.

The Sugar Free El Presidente

The Sugar Free El Presidente has been adapted from the original that was published by Jason Wilson in his book, Boozehound.

This particular may take a little while to make for the uninitiated!  It requires three of our MDR Lab’s Sugar Free Reagents!

Sugar Free Hong Kong Cocktail

The Sugar Free Hong Kong Cocktail was a special treat!  It was much more citrusy than expected, which gave it a wonderful fruity overture that combined wonderfully with the herbal nuances of the dry vermouth.  And that added dash of orange bitters just rounds out the whole experience.
This is also another great opportunity to try out our Sugar Free Dry Vermouth Recipe!
We’re not quite sure where this particular cocktail originated.  However, as we’ve mentioned this wonderful resource before, a search over at kindredcocktails.com is what led us to the original recipe.   We had a difficult time actually searching for the origins, so if anyone has a clue, please let us know!sugar free hong kong cocktail

Sugar Free Dry Vermouth

After we tackled the Sugar Free Sweet Vermouth, it only took a little more research and experimentation to perfect the Sugar Free Dry Vermouth!

Now we can look forward to dry martinis (stirred, not shaken, despite Bond theory!), as well as other delicious cocktails, but without the carbs, without the sugar, and without the wine, but with all the delicious flavorings of an authentic Dry Vermouth!
